BENEVOLENCE FOR BURUNDI
Geneva Church Meets Needs In Burundi

By Chantal Mutamuriza

I am happy to share with you how the Geneva church touched the hearts of Burundian disciples.

A week ago, there was a special collection within Geneva church for needy people in Burundi. I was moved by the way God used the disciples here to answer my prayers. I prayed to get 1'500 Swiss Francs (almost 1500 USD) so that urgent needs in Burundi could be met.

One Sunday I was asked to explain the needs in Burundi after the message prior to the collection. People were deeply moved and gave from their hearts, at the end we managed to collect 1523 Suiss Francs (exactly what I asked plus the fees for sending the money via money express). I was blown away by God's faithfulness. It was the accomplishment of the scripture in Luke11:9.

As a result of this:
A single mother, Madam Florid, and her 5 kids and 1 granddaughter had their accumulated and overwhelming rent arrears paid.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude and their 3 kids, had the roof over their heads repaired as a result of this. They also managed to get medication for their first born who is suffering from measles at the moment.
Madam Gloria, a tailor in the slums, saw her business rescued. Her sewing machine had broken down but is now being repaired. She will be able to get back to business very soon.
Madam Agnes and Madam Agripina had their businesses boosted and rent arrears alleviated. 4 orphans, who are also students, experienced the hand of God when shopping of the household goods was done and presented to them.
