FULL-TIME HEARTS Leading Churches While Holding Down Full-Time Jobs

As challenging as it is to lead a congregation, it is even more taxing to do so when holding down a full-time non-ministry job. But with full-time hearts that are sold out to the kingdom, that is exactly what Joachim and Eva Palangyo are doing in Arusha, Tanzania, and Didi Havyarimana in Bujumbura, Burundi.

Didi took over the mantle of shepherding the Bujumbura sisters in 2003, and one of the highlights since then has been the Women's Day in 2004 year when the seven sisters had an attendance of 151.

Joachim and Eva not only have their jobs to attend to and the church to run, but a son to raise as well. All this they do joyfully.

Among the first converts after the Arusha church was planted in 1996, Joachim and Eva have worked under and learnt from many dynamic leaders over the years. But as of June 2004, it is they who hold the responsibility of shepherding the congregation.

These three heroic disciples illustrate powerfully that as long as our hearts are right, we will make disciples and not excuses as we respond to God's love and call by giving him and his people our very best regardless how busy we might be.
