HERVE IN THE HOUSE
See It, Say It, Show It

Images from the occasion

Herve FleurantThe smiles were wide, the singing loud, the fellowship buzzing, the house full and the lights bright as the Nairobi Christian Church’s Central Regions packed into the Railway Club to welcome back Hervé Fleurant, currently lead evangelist of the Denver church and previously leader of the east Africa geographic sector of churches, for a midweek service.

Hervé lived in Kenya with his family from 1999 to 2003 and together with his wife, Janet, led the East African churches with a labour of love that has left an indelible imprint on the saints here.

On his way back to Denver after attending and presiding over a leadership conference in Abidjan, Ivory Coast for leaders of various churches in Africa, Hervé preached to the Nairobi disciples about being true Christians, not just saying that we are or feeling that we are because we have been around for many years, and growing in our character constantly, thus consistently having an impact on those around us.

“Age does not mean maturity,” Hervé shared. He also reminded us that “we are in the business of salvation, not condemnation,” expressing how we sometimes are unwilling to let people back into the fellowship who have fallen away even though they are repentant and penitent. Hervé exhorted all to appreciate the value of the kingdom and “see it, say it and show it.”

Apart from the inspiration from the message, disciples were also refreshed simply to have Hervé back. As Steve Mukenya said, it was “just like when the apostle Paul would return to strengthen churches where he had lived and preached.” Given the tremendous impact that the Fleurants had on so many while they were in Nairobi – and continue to have as they disciple the leaders of the Nairobi church – it was just like dad was back in the house.

The message met needs. David Kanyatta said, "I feel like the message was tailor-made for my own needs and I cant wait to start making changes in my life." Another shared, "Hervé is so relaxed, funny and convicting at the same time. He is a model of consistent spiritual growth, which many of us lose after some years. I was challenged to be a disciple and not just feel that I am one because I’ve been in the kingdom for many years.”
