THE OPTION OF ADOPTION Living It, Loving It And Learning From It" On the 3rd of August, Rayola and Georgeanne Osanya-Nyynéque of the Nairobi Church appeared in the Nation newspaper, Kenya’s highest distribution daily newspaper, together with their son, Paul Michael Rambo, in an article about adoption, entitled, “Giving Adoption A Good Name,” which featured other families as well. GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS - Philip in the book of Acts had seven daughters who prophesied, and while Elias and Margaret Aketch of the Nairobi church do not have seven daughters who prophesy, they do have three daughters who at one time professed Christ. WON OVER BY HIS WIFE
Paul and Dorothy Kuru
For eight years after her baptism, Dorothy Kuru had to put up with opposition to her faith directed at her by her husband, Paul. At times he would make disparaging remarks about the church, bar her from attending certain church functions and for periods would refuse for their children to go to church with Dorothy. On one occasion Paul locked Dorothy out in the cold when she came home from church.

On that black Friday a terrorist bomb tore apart the American Embassy in Nairobi leaving more than 200 people dead. Anthony and Mary Mwanza, disciples in the Eastleigh Sector of Nairobi's Metro Region remember that fateful day as if it were just yesterday.

EIGHT IS ENOUGH - Amos and Joyce Maganga Amos and Joyce Maganga"Eight Is Enough" is the title of a popular TV series from the '80's in which a couple had eight children. Amos and Joyce Maganga from Nairobi's Kangemi sector do not have eight children - they have three - but eight-and-a-half years is the period that Joyce had to wait after her baptism before Amos finally became a disciple.

FROM BABY GLOOM TO BABY BOOM- Four couples in the Nairobi church’s Metro Region suffered pain and frustration through six miscarriages and three stillbirths. They did not lose hope, but instead, resolved to pray and fast for each other, and, as a powerful demonstration that "the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry" (Psalm 34:15), God blessed each couple with comfort and joy as he gave them bright bouncing babies in answer to their prayers.
THOMAS OTIENDE SHOWS HIMSELF FAITHFUL-In a country with a severely slumping economy where it has become a national pastime to lament about present crises and make dire predictions for the future, it takes conviction, as a married man with two children, to turn down a job offering twice your current salary simply because your would-be employer will not give you time off to attend Thursday evening church service. But that is exactly what Thomas Otiende, a brother in the Nairobi church, did.

The marrieds of the Nairobi church had a highly inspiring workshop entitled "Learning Your Spouse's Love Language", based on the book "The Five Love Languages". The workshop presented marriage from a unique perspective and couples left the event renewed and refreshed.
