A Tale Of Two Weddings

While two recent famous Hollywood movies were entitled "Back To The Future" and "Out Of Africa," for two couples in 2004 it was "Back To Africa." Sonia Kabwa, a Burundian in the Leeds church in England brought her fiancé, Stig Borsem, home for what was the first ever wedding in the Bujumbura church, and in Kampala, Steve Harbakon and Linda Zake of the Chicago church were joined in a wonderful lakeside ceremony.

Sonia visits Burundi often and from the UK has directly and indirectly helped many in Bujumbura to find the Lord. (Click here to read more about it.) Linda was baptized in South Africa and later moved back home to Uganda, where she met Steve when he came over to visit.

It is encouraging to see these two couples remembering their roots and giving us the joy of sharing in their nuptials. Stig and Sonia and Steve and Linda, we wish you the best as you serve God in your corners of the kingdom and as you remember and pray for your brothers and sisters in East Africa.
