Mark Philbrick THE GREAT COMMANDMENT AND THE GREAT COMMISSION
It's All About Love

Mark Philbrick

(Mark is a nurse, travels constantly and extensively - he has flown over 1000 miles - and has been a disciple for five years. He baptized his wife immediately he got baptized, and their two sons and their daughter are all baptized disciples)

We must not be content with having a great knowledge of the Bible. We must allow the Bible to make the last 12 inches from the head to the heart.

Matthew 22:36-40
It's really all about loving God and loving people. What, then, is love?

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
Love is not a feeling. The words here are words of action.

1 John 3:16-1
It is action that shows our love.

1 John 4:7-12

Mark shared how he became a disciple. One of Sam Laing's sons gave up the window seat on a plane for Mark's daughter, who was travelling with her mother (Mark's wife). As Mark's wife noted the young man reading his Bible they got to talking and when he said that his brother was hid best friend, Mark's wife felt that he was no normal teenager. She accepted an invitation to church. She went to church the following Sunday, and the Sunday after that, having returned from a trip, Mark also came to church. Two weeks later they were baptized. They were moved by the love of the disciples, bringing them anniversary gifts when they were still studying the Bible and constantly coming over to spend time with their children. "No one had ever done that for us before," Mark shared.

Making disciples is not complicated. Just share your life, your heart, your love.
