BUILT UP BY GOD'S GRACE

Ephesians 2:8

Amazing means "beyond description."

It is amazing that someone - Jesus - went through so much for us to be saved.

Q. Have you understood God's amazing grace?

Meditate and reflect on what Jesus has done for you as an individual.

1. GRACE THAT TEACHES

Titus 2:11-14

God has given his grace to all. The problem is that not all have accepted or appreciated that grace.

It is possible to avoid sin out of fear, e.g. avoid sexual immorality for fear of contracting an STI. But when we change because we recognizer God's grace, rather than out of fear, we are at peace and there is joy that accompanies our repentance and abstinence.

When we change due to grace, we do not complain about the demands and rigours of life in the kingdom, e.g. giving contribution, coming to midweek services, etc.

When you forget where God brought you from, you lose your gratitude. Meditate and reflect on how far God has brought you in helping you out of the darkness.

Q. Have you desired to go back to sinful and/ or compromising habits and company?

When you think and carry yourself in a manner that is "self-controlled, upright and godly," you learn to forgive. If you are having a problem letting go of bitterness, then you have forgotten how far God had graciously brought you.

1 Corinthians 15:9-11

Paul was motivated to work hard because he was in touch with the grace of God. If you have been lazy and inactive in helping people know God, then you are out of touch with God's grace in your life.

God's grace is supposed to have an effect on you. It is supposed to inspire you. It is supposed to change you and thus transform your marriage, character, faith, etc.

Q. Has the grace of God had an effect on you? Are you consistently growing in the various areas of your life?

Remember where God has brought you from, respond to his grace and let his kindness propel you forward.
