WHEN YOU BELIEVE

Matthew 8:7-10
Most people's faith was in Jesus' presence rather than in his power. This centurion believed in Jesus' power and not merely in his presence. He understood that Jesus' power was available according to Jesus' will, and so all he needed to do was ask. For us, all we need to do, too, is ask, i.e. pray - and believe.

Q. Are you relying on God to turn around and transform different issues in your life?

1. YOU OF LITTLE FAITH, WHY ARE YOU SO AFRAID?

For many of us, fear is holding us back. As singles we fear that we cannot find a spouse among the disciples. As marrieds we wonder if we are truly loved. We fear, married or single, that our finances will not or cannot carry us as far as we want to go.

Matthew 8:23-27
The disciples were in a panic while Jesus was at peace. The difference between the two was that Jesus had faith but the disciples had fear. Jesus believed but his disciples grieved.

Q. How do you react to the challenges of every day? Are you confident and committed or have you allowed fear to hold you back?

2. FAITH WITHOUT DEEDS IS DEAD

James 2:14-17
Faith will inspire us to help meet the needs of others in the ministry.

Q. Is it your habit to respond to different needy situations of which you are aware?

James 2:18,19
Even terrorist bombers believe in God. Belief alone is of little meaning. The big question is: "What do you do with your faith?"

Q. How much are you changing and growing as a result of your faith?

James 2:20-26
Without action, each of us is dead. Disciples grow because and when their faith is put into action. You will grow when you put you put your faith into action.

We must examine different areas of our lives. Is you personal Bible study growing or deteriorating? Are you boldly reaching out to non-disciples or holding back from doing so?

Let us all believe, and act boldly, to the glory of God Almighty.
