RECAPTURE YOUR AMBITION

There are several qualities that describe a dreamer. A dreamer is characterized by striving, longing and yearning. A dreamer is full of intent. A dreamer is purposeful, ambitious and full of intent.

Romans 15:20

Paul was a dreamer, as he expresses here. He had great ambition for God.

1. ABILITY WE HAVE

Matthew 25:14-18

The master gave to each according to his ability. Each man had ability. We all have ability. You have the ability to be a great disciple in all areas of your life.

Q. Do you believe that you have ability?
Q. What excuses have you been making for not working hard as a disciple and growing in your walk with God?

Excuses only show that we are neglecting the ability that God has given us as a gift.


2. AMBITION IS A CHOICE

Matthew 25:19-23

The master did not tell any of these men to double what he had given them. it is something they did by choice. Ambition is a choice. While we all have ability, that is not enough. It takes ambition on the part of every one of us for our ability to produce meaningful and even powerful results.

Learn to set goals for yourself. Give yourself targets and go after them. It keeps you focussed and directed.

We sometimes fear ambition because when we dream, we must take responsibility.


3. ACKNOWLEDGE THE THINGS THAT HAVE KILLED YOUR FAITH

Matthew 25:24-27

This fellow is negative. Negativity kills dreams. It is easy to be negative - negative about our lives, circumstances, etc. This steals our ambition from us. It makes you turn into yourself and bury what God has given you rather than use it.

Fear is another thing to which this man gave in. Fear, too, kills our ambition. If you overcome fear then you can overcome anything.

Q. What do you fear?
Q. What fears are holding you back?

The master called this man lazy and wicked. God has a strong opinion about those who allow their ambition to be stolen. Don't be lazy, but instead think through your life and the different things that you want to work on, change and improve.
