God has called us to be dreamers - and doers too.

Philippians 3:10

Recapturing the dream must be occasioned by a desire to know god intimately. Without this, we will start to change but then quickly burn out.

Only through suffering will we be made like Christ in death. Jesus endured the cross because he had a dream for us. And for us to have a dream for him, we must become like him.

1. FORGETTING WHAT IS BEHIND

Philippians 3:12-14

When we look back, we tend to see past failures, and it clouds our vision. We thus cannot see the dream that is ahead. Thinking too much of past victories does not help either, because you end up talking about the past rather than walking in the present.

Ecclesiastes 7:10

Appreciate past success but look forward to God's greatness that lies ahead, rather than look jealously at the "good old days." Our glory days lie ahead of us. If you decide that you will claim the prize and experience the victories God has planned for you, then you will make it.

The present will not be great because of the past. Our Bible Talks, ministry groups, academics, careers, family life, etc., will not be great because in the past they went well. They will be great because we walk with God today.

Romans 2:6

God wants to give you glory, honour and immortality. This is his dream for you. Q. Is this your dream for yourself?

2. GO IN THE STRENGTH THAT YOU HAVE

Judges 6:3-6; 11-14

We have all been like Gideon, looking at what is not going well and concluding that nothing will go well.

Whatever little faith, strength, insight, understanding, experience, etc., that you have, god will use it to accomplish greatness if you allow him to.

Walk with God. Go out together with him, and you will succeed.

Exodus 3:11-14; 4:1-5;17

Moses insisted on making excuses. He had no dream so he only saw obstacles. But all it took was for Moses to use his staff. Even with a mere staff, God was able to do much through Moses.

Let us want to be like Christ. Let us recapture our dreams. And let us be like Christ.
