GOD EXALTS THE HUMBLE

Psalm 147:5,6

God responds to our humility or lack of it. God calls lack of humility, i.e. pride, wickedness.

Numbers 12:3
Moses was supremely humble.

Deuteronomy 34:5,6
God buried Moses, so humble was the man.

Genesis 5:22-24
God literally lifted up Enoch in death, so humble was Enoch, as evidence by his walking with God for 300 years.

Matthew 18:1-4
You must be changed in order to have the humility that god is looking for. This is the humility level that Moses and Enoch had.

Q. God wants to make you into something; will you humble yourself to allow him to make you what he wants you to become?

Children ask a lot of questions in their eagerness to learn, understand and to continually know more.

Q. Is it your habit to ask questions and seek advice?

1. HUMBLE YOURSELF UNDER GOD'S MIGHTY HAND

1 Peter 5:6

The choice, decision and responsibility to be humble lie with each of us individually.

We either humble ourselves under God's mighty hand or God will humble us by his mighty hand.

Philippians 2:8
Humility towards God is shown by obedience to him.

Q. How obedient are you to Scripture?
Q. In which areas have you allowed yourself to be disobedient?

Ezra 8:21
Fasting is an integral part of worship and of humbling ourselves before God.

Q. Do you fast as you seek guidance from God?
Q. Do you fast by personal decision or only when it is suggested for your ministry?

2. SHOW HUMILITY TO ALL MEN

Titus 3:1,2

I must not only show humility, but must show true humility, and not only that, but I must show it to all men.

Q. To what people do you show humility?
Q. Are you humble towards those you lead and/or disciple?
Q. Do you give excuses for your sin and compromise, or do you seek to change it?
Q. Do you have questions during discipling time out of an eagerness to learn and to be helped?
Q. Are you humble towards your spouse or do the two of you constantly tear each other down?

James 1:19,20
In all our relationships - discipling, marriage, dating, professional - one key to doing well is to be a humble listener.

Q. Do you listen or do you spend energy trying to defend yourself?
Q. Do you accept correction from your spouse?

Let us humble ourselves under God's mighty hand and show humility to all men, and thus meet with the approval of the God who exalts the humble.
