LOVING THE BODY OF CHRIST
1 Timothy 3:14,15
The church of Christ, which is God's household, is the pillar and foundation of the truth.
There is a proper and appropriate way in which we are to conduct ourselves while we are in God's household. Everyone must get involved in the activities of the church - Bible talks, midweek services, First Century Sunday services, Singles Fellowships, Marrieds Workshops and Dinner dances, etc.
Fellowship must not be casual. We need to take care of people with great seriousness and urgency.
1. COMMIT YOURSELF TO YOUR FAITHFUL CREATOR
1 Peter 4:18,19
It is important for everyone to commit themselves to God - the Creator. It is not easy and so it takes commitment. What kills fellowship?2. DEVELOP SPIRITUAL MUSCLES
- unconfessed sin
- undealt with attitudes
- laziness, which results in a lack of giving.
1 Corinthians 12:25
Everyone should have equal concern for the church - its growth, its maturity, its giving, etc. No one should be a mere spectator in the church.
We must all be involved in helping each other. We must be involved in helping each other, admonishing each other and forgiving each other.
2 Corinthians 8:1-7
Giving is not a question of how much, but giving according to your ability. Everyone has some form of ability and it is not right before God that we give less than we are able to.
We must get deeply committed to God first, and then to his church in giving.
