GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES
2 Corinthians 1:20 God's promises are "yes." In other words, God keeps his promises. He is as good as his word. God's promises are:
T - TRUSTWORTHY ALWAYS
Romans 8:28 This is a promise that even in hard times God is by our side. If we never had problems, then we would never come up with solutions. If w never faced trial, then we would never experience triumph. The problems and trials in your life are not reason to give up but instead reason to get up - get up and stand on God's promise to work for your good.
Q. Have you felt down recently because of challenging situations in your life? Remember Romans 8:28. God is with you to strengthen your faith and straighten your path. Don't despair. Trust God's promises.
R - RICHLY AVAILABLE
Romans 8:32 Having shown the full extent of his love by sacrificing his only Son for you, God has shown that there is nothing he would not do or give to help you. This is an incredibly great promise. God's promises are richly available and not sparingly fulfilled.
U - UNVEILED IN SCRIPTURE
Roman 10:17 You'll only know, understand and believe God's promises by getting into his message, i.e. studying the Bible. That is the only way you will be reminded of God's track record and grow in your faith in him. Today's problems can make you forget yesterday's convictions, so you must study your Bible daily so that you will constantly be reminded afresh of God's great promises to you.
E - EXCITING AND ENCOURAGING
Hebrew 13:5,6 The first-century disciples faced daily the threat of persecution and execution at the hands of Caesar's government. The Hebrew writer encourages them by sharing two awesome promises here, one from Deuteronomy 31:6 and another from Psalm 118:6,7. God's promises are a solid rock on which to steady yourself, a ray of hope in the darkness of despair and a guarantee of his goodness and guidance. It is exciting and encouraging to be reminded of the love and light that he extends to us daily.
Q. Have you trusted God's promises in your life or have you felt hopeless at times?
Psalm 18:25
The combination of the first letters of each of the above points spells "TRUE." God's promises are true. God has made promises that touch every aspect of our lives - our salvation, our spirituality, our physical well-being, our hopes and dreams, our finances, our personal relationships, our future, our eternity. As long as we are faithful to him as obedient, trusting disciples of Christ, he will fulfill every promise that he has made to us.
