THANKFUL IN CHALLENGING CIRCUMSTANCES

Job 1:20,21
Job went through loss - far greater than anything many of us has ever experienced. He lost most of possessions and all of his family.

Matthew 5:1-11
Being thankful in even the most difficult of situations is a command from God and something that we must understand.

1. THANK GOD THAT WE CAN BE LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN

Luke 10:21-24

As children, everything is a joy. Children are fascinated by and get a thrill from seeing and observing what later as adults we fell is common and mundane. We will not be thankful if we do not become like little children.

Luke 18:15
We must not merely appreciate what we get from kind, generous people, but we must desire and strive to have hearts like theirs.

2. THANK GOD THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TOO MUCH

Proverbs 30:7-9

If you have too much, your heart will easily turn away from God.

Q. Are you grateful or prideful about your character strengths, talents, abilities and possessions?
Q. Do you r4egret and complain about what you don't have or are you content and grateful?

If you think that you are badly off then remember that there are people who, if they had what you have, would feel like they were in heaven.

3. THANK GOD FOR OUR WEAKNESSES

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Weaknesses help to keep us humble, so, given that God opposes the proud (James 4:6;1 Peter 5:5), we ought to be grateful for the humbling role played by our weaknesses.
