When Jesus gave up his life upon the cross, it was not because he knew that every single individual would respond with gratitude, be moved by the cross, and follow him. On the contrary, while he desired that we all get saved, he knew that many would not give their lives to him - after all, it was he who had taught about the wide and narrow road - but did it because every soul that would be saved, no matter how few they may be in the larger proportion of world population, was of great value to him. And each soul still is of great value to him. Each soul is of great value.

As we consider our commission to make disciples of all nations, we must once more get in touch with the value of one soul.
