COURAGE ON CAMPUS (NAIROBI, KENYA)
In face of this Harriet took a valiant stand, packed her bags, and left home. She was not going to let anyone or anything stand in the way of her serving God and his kingdom. After getting advice from the leaders of the campus women's ministry, Harriet talked things out with her father. Harriet's father had a change of heart and she returned home. In all this, as distracting and disturbing as it was, Harriet continued sharing her faith. She reached out to several of her classmates, including Carol Mayende. After studying the Bible for a few weeks, Carol was baptized into Christ, convicted by the Scriptures and the lives of Harriet and the other campus sisters. Not long after being personally fruitful, Harriet got the results of her accountancy exams. She had the second highest score in the entire country! As she continues to study accountancy and at the same time pursue a degree in Social Sciences, Harriet's conviction and consistency are a bright light in the campus ministry in Nairobi, Kenya. Harriet is a soprano, and apart from everything else she does, she sings in the church choir. She has also illuminated many campus ministry services with rousing solo performances. She is not only intelligent, but intense as well, not only talented, but tough too, and continues to stand out as a great example of courage on campus. |
